Am I the only one who thinks that the new Zelda games with Toon Link on the DS are a bit of a dissapointment to the series? I love Legend of Zelda, but Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks feel like dead weight compared to Wind Waker, and the amazing games of OoT, MM, and TP. Anyone else feel the same way, or am I alone here?

Eh, for the DS, I happen to like it being Toon Link. I just don't like Toon Link on something like the gamecube.

Eh, I'm not really talking about Toon Link himself, moreso about what games he's been in, and how the 2 handheld games are kinda crap (in my opinion).

Phantom Hourglass was a decent game, but no, the handheld games definitely do not match up to the console games.

All of you should know even though the Link from Spirit Tracks is based on Toon Link, he is not the Link from Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. Spirit Tracks is set a century after Phantom Hourglass. It is another Link.

Some may think that this is too bad. However, I believe that the expansion of the series is good, especially when it is an expansion of the Ocarina of Time story line and not another of the alternate ones.

They should make a 2D Zelda for the DS in the classical sense, rather that making us use the stylus. Leave the overuse of gimmicks to games for casual gamers, who play to kill time, and give us who have been playing for 15 or more years what we got. Don't turn old reliable away.

Says the guy who prefers 3D Sonic games over the 2D ones... (If I remember correctly.)

I like both. And, while I also prefeer 3D Zelda to 2D Zelda, I prefeer Classic 2D Zelda to gimmick 2D Zelda. And full blown 3D games in portable consoles, doesn't feel right for me. And, what does that have to do with anything?
